Extracting

• 1). Purchase a security bolt extractor. These are the same as are used on security screws.
  
  
• 2). Rest the two small metal protrusions of the extractor on the head of the security bolt between the raised portions of metal.
  
  
• 3). Turn the extractor counterclockwise to loosen and remove the security bolt. The metal protrusions on the end of the extractor will grip the bolt and turn it as a screwdriver would.
  
  

Drilling and Extracting

• 1). Drill a hole in the center of the head of the bolt with a power drill.
  
  
• 2). Insert a bolt/screw extractor into the hole.
  
  
• 3). Turn the bolt/screw extractor counterclockwise to loosen and remove the bolt.
  
  

Pliers

• 1). Grip the head of the bolt with a pair of pliers.
  
  
• 2). Turn the bolt counterclockwise with the pliers to loosen the screw.
  
  
• 3). Pull the screw upward with your hand when the screw is released from the surface of the piece from which it is being removed.
