Celebrity Wedding News and Gossip
It's been quite a week in celebrity wedding gossip, with two major engagements that have water coolers everywhere buzzing, as well as a couple of Amazing weddings.
Paris Hilton got engaged to herself? Wait, no, sorry, he just has her same name. Paris Hilton is engaged to Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis. Paris and Paris have been saying "That's Hot" together for eight months of dating. No word yet on a wedding date.
This will be a first wedding for both of them.
According to US Weekly, Paris Latsis proposed to Paris Hilton with a selection of 15 different rings from such jewelers as Tiffany and Harry Winston, including one 15-carat diamond sparkler. We're still awaiting their first public appearance to see which ring Paris chose.
Meanwhile, People magazine reports that Paris and Paris are planning on having children soon ? but wait until you hear the proposed names. London for a boy, and PARIS for a girl! The mind boggles.
Elsewhere in celebrity land, Garth Brooks proposed to Trisha Yearwood by dropping to one knee in front of 7000 fans at the Legends in Bronze awards. The event celebrating the unveiling of 10 huge bronze statues of country music legends, including Garth Brooks. After his statue was unveiled, Brooks stunned the crowd, and Trisha Yearwood, by proposing. Yearwood, a fellow country star, said "yes," as the crowd screamed and applauded. This will be Yearwood's third marriage, and Brooks's second.
Kevin Weisman, who plays tech whiz Marshall Flinkman on the ABC series Alias married L.A. preschool teacher Jodi Tanowitz, in a traditional Jewish service in San Jose, CA. Guests were treated to a surprise appearance by Weisman's band, Trainwreck, at the reception. The pair will honeymoon in Hawaii, before heading back to L.A. and Alias' fifth season.
Amazing Race couple Ray Housteau and Deana Shane also got married this week. Their Youngstown, Ohio Methodist ceremony had more than a nod to the show ? their color scheme of yellow and red matched the show's logo, and the couple entered the ceremony to the Amazing Race theme music. Other Amazing Race stars attended, including recent newlyweds Amber Brkich and Rob Mariano.
As I type this, fellow Amazing Race contestants Lynn Warren and Alex Ali are gearing up to marry this morning in Canada in front of 400 guests. Reportedly, the couple picked up their license yesterday, before going to the jewelers to get their matching platinum and diamond rings, and last minute adjustments on their custom-made chocolate brown suits, all while still bleary-eyed from the joint bachelor party!
