Hi, my name is Alex Cecilio. I¡¯m a graphic artist, and I¡¯m going to show you how to create a realistic portrait in Photoshop. So, I want a lot of white and a lot of black, and some gray. I don¡¯t want too, too much gray, because all you really need is a little bit. But, I do want a lot of white. This is also going to make it easier to eliminate the background. Now we¡¯ve got our picture, so I¡¯m going to double click, I¡¯m going to say ¡°OK,¡± and then I¡¯m going to make sure my background color is white. And then, I¡¯m going to start erasing. So¡and, it¡¯s OK if you start to see this transparent square pattern ¨C it¡¯s normal. It¡¯s OK, because we will fix that in a minute. But, basically I¡¯m just going to start erasing around my face and head, so that¡now I¡¯ve got my outline of me. Alright, so then I¡¯m going to just get rid of the excess, make my eraser bigger. Go ahead and erase that. Alright, so now I just have my picture. So, from here what you can do is, I¡¯d recommend going to Filter, Artistic, and then Cutout, and the reason I¡¯m doing that is because I want to know ¨C I want my shapes of color or shades of gray to be pretty well defined, so that I have sort of a guide for my color. You could do whatever you like, but in the end you should have blocks of color or blocks of gray. My name is Alex, and these are tips for doing a realistic portrait in Photoshop. Thank you.
