If you are not a regular gym goer, but you want to build up your body at home, the following suggested tips will give you some good idea that you can use to build up your muscle even at the comfort of your own home:

1. Buy a pair of dumbbells, and work out with it for at least 2 times a day (30 minutes for each time).

2. Crunches will be helping you a lot in developing the muscles. 30-40 times for the beginners and then increase it to about 70-80 times after 2 months. As with all exercises, it should be build upon gradually.

3. Have some protein shakes then start out with squats, push-ups, and do some running. If you are not inclined towards glucose drinks, plain water would be more then sufficient for you and to hydrate your cells before, during and after the workout.

4. Do push-ups, stair running, side bends and jumping jacks, which will help in toning and building your muscles in a very short time.

5. Do work out in your home using some elastic bands. It can be hooked anywhere. It is transportable. And you can also use the elastic bands when you are travelling.

6. Skipping and jumping are also two effective methods in building up your muscles quickly. Skip for at least 120-150 times a day.

7. Do lift heavy items up in your house, in a repeated manner. You will find that your muscles are growing and are getting stronger day by day.

Bonus: Buy a pair of dumbbells, a walker and some elastic bands, which will be quite handy when you are up to a certain exercise in your home.
