How to Season a Smoked Turkey
- 1). Fill the smoker's water pan 1/3 full with apple juice and water. Preheat the slow cooker to 240 F.
- 2). Pour garlic, seasoned salt, Cajun seasoning and lemon pepper in a medium-sized bowl and mix the ingredients together.
- 3). Place turkey in the aluminum roasting pan and rub the ingredients in the bowl over the outside of the turkey with your hands.
- 4). Fill the inside of the turkey with the butter, cola, apple, onion, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
- 5). Cook the turkey in the smoker for about six and a half hours, basting the turkey in its seasoned juices every one to two hours.
