Paint on walls doesn’t have to be a basic one color. If you want a room to have a wild look to it, there are a number of ideas you can try when painting that can give any room a funky or eclectic look. So if you are going for a room that is clever and out of the ordinary, discover some wild ideas for painting the walls of your room to get that crazy look you want. - One idea is to do bold, contrasting colors on each wall. You can choose four colors from different color families, like pink, green, yellow and purple, and paint one wall each color. This will definitely give your room a wild burst of color, and you won’t be limited on the color choices of corresponding décor either. Just try to stick with similar shades. For example, don’t pair a bright green with a soft pink.
- Another wild idea is to paint walls with animal prints. This can be intricate work depending on the print, but it can be worth it if you want some wild walls. You can do zebra, leopard, giraffe, tiger and even tropical fish prints. Do all your walls one print, or do different prints on each wall. You can also opt to do the trim in an animal print and paint the rest of the walls a bold color that matches the print.
- You can do a mural of wild flowers on one wall or paint them hanging down from the ceiling all around walls. If you aren’t a skilled painter, you can hire a muralist to do the job for you so you can get the gorgeous look of blooming wild flowers in any room.
- Bold vertical stripes can give a room dimension and an interesting optical illusion of elongating any room. Do contrasting colors, like black on white, light pink on black, or even purple on yellow. Whatever colors you like to match the rest of your room‘s decor.
- An underwater mural can be an interesting aquatic theme for a room and looks great in a kids room. You can paint walls a deep ocean blue, then add sea creatures, like an octopus, sea horse, dolphin and shark. Again, if you aren’t a skilled artist, a muralist can do this job for you.
- For a personalized touch from family and friends, have a painting party. Set out paint brushes and colors and let friends and family paint their own designs on walls. This will give an eclectic look and fond memories to look back on anytime you look at the walls. Or you can just go crazy and let people splatter and paint walls for an artsy look.
- Instead of purchasing expensive frames, paint frames onto walls, which can let you make frames as big as you want and in any color. This look is interesting and will save you money on purchasing expensive frames.
