How to Clean an Old Hardwood Floor
- 1). Sweep the old hardwood floors with a broom to remove excess dirt and debris. Dirt can scratch hardwood floors.
- 2). Dust mop the old hardwood floors in order to remove remaining dust.
- 3). Add 3 tsp. of vinegar and 1 gallon of water to the mop pail.
- 4). Dip the mop into the vinegar and water mixture, then wring the water out of the mop. Excess water in the mop can warp the hardwood floors.
- 5). Run the mop along the hardwood floor. Wipe down the floor with a towel to dry the floor.
