Stain Removal on Polished Porcelain Tiles
- Mix 2 tsp. dish soap or a mild detergent with 1 gallon warm water. Mop the floors with the solution and check the stain. If the stain remains, dip a sponge in the solution and transfer the cleaning solution to the stain. Rub the sponge on the stain and let the solution sit for three to five minutes. Then, rinse the floor with fresh water.
- For persistent or older stains, sprinkle baking soda on the floor. Add a small amount of water and work the solution into a paste. Let the paste sit on the floor for several minutes and then wipe away with a damp cloth. The baking soda acts as a mild abrasive that lifts the stain away from the polished porcelain.
- Avoid using commercial cleaners, abrasive cleaners and strong chemicals on the porcelain stains. These products can scratch the tiles and remove the polish or glaze.
