How to Get Moving Pods for Out of State
- 1). Access the PODS website at pods.com and order the appropriate size container(s). For long distance moves PODS requires use of the 8x8x16 foot containers. These containers are designed to fit three to four rooms worth of belongings from a typical household. You can also call PODS at 888-776-PODS (7637) to discuss your moving needs and place an order.
- 2). Specify the delivery date of the POD. Once it arrives start filling it with your items. Carefully wrap and protect your belongings. Lock unattended containers.
- 3). Request that PODS pick up your container. If you are ready to have the container moved to the out of state location, provide the new address and desired delivery date. PODS will drive the container to the out-of-state destination. Their trucks are equipped with a hydraulic lift system designed to minimize any shifting of packed items. If you are not ready to have the container moved, PODS will store your box at one of their storage facilities until you are ready. The container can also remain at your site until you are ready to call PODS.
- 4). Unpack the container at your own pace. Request PODS reclaim the container.
