Versions

• Versions 2.2 and later of the iPhone Configuration Utility are designed to work with the version of iOS installed on the iPad. The software can thus be used to configure either device -- but regardless of which one you're using, you should always use the latest version of the Configuration Utility, which is available for free download from Apple's website.
  
  

Downloading

• Visit Apple's website (Apple.com). Click "Support," then "iPad," then "Enterprise." Click the "iPhone Configuration Utility" link corresponding to your operating system, then click the "Download" button to download a Windows EXE or Apple DMG file containing the software.
  
  

Installing

• Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install it on your computer. Once it's installed, you'll be able to run it whenever you want without having to return to Apple's website.
  
  

Running

• Connect your iPad to a USB port on your computer, then run "iPhone Configuration Utility" either from the Windows Start menu or from the Mac OS Applications folder. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure your iPad.
