How to Get Rid of Grass Stickers

    • 1). Wait until germination to begin removal. Grass stickers germinate over the spring and summer and flower three weeks after germination. Plan your removal within these three weeks to prevent the further spread of seed.

    • 2). Put on a thick pair of gloves and pull the entire plant out of the ground, also making sure to collect burrs that have fallen off. For large infestations, hoe soil shallowly to a depth of about 1 inch to remove the plants.

    • 3). Continue pulling or hoeing the soil yearly until the grass stickers disappear completely. Each removal will decrease the number of seeds in the soil, making it more difficult for the plant to return.
