    Accessories

    • Add a few accessories to your kitchen. Move the basket of flowers from your mantel to your kitchen counter. Fold a wash cloth into a fan shape, secure it with a ponytail holder in a coordinating color and place it on your counter. Use your old ribbon or lace to wrap around your wooden cooking utensils and place them in a teapot.

    Furniture

    • Move your old dresser from the guest room into your kitchen and use it for additional storage. Try hiding your small appliances like your electric can opener or juicer in the roll-top desk you have in another room.

    Wall Art

    • Make a collection of old plates and hang them on your kitchen walls. Cut out those cute pictures from last year's calendar and arrange them on your walls. Clip recipes from your magazines and create a collage with them. Frame that doily or piece of lace from an old dress to make even more wall art for your kitchen.

    Lighting

    • Move the lamp from your dining room into your kitchen. Place the "stick up lights" your children have outgrown under your cabinets in your kitchen to add more light to your counters. Move the candles from your mantel and place them on your kitchen table or bar.

    Window Treatments

    • Use your old shower curtain to make new draperies for your kitchen. Cut off the excess and create a valance as well. Hang your old kitchen aprons on a tension rod to make café curtains, or use that set of bath or kitchen towels you never used for curtains.
