The first and foremost reason is the career.
To pursue one's career one may be forced to leave his or her present place of residence.
This may result in a forcible break-up in relationships.
This is usually seen when a teenager is going off to college.
The other factor is the graduation.
After graduation a person may go to a college where he or she may find new friends who will replace old ones.
The relationships which were strong during high school start getting weaker, eventually leading to a complete break off.

To arrange living is quite difficult if you are a high a schooler.
While blinded by love, teenage couples feelings to each other is sustained even though they are not financially prepared to aspire a living.
When reality hits, the relationship starts spiraling downwards.
Conflict between ideas and attitude is another reason for break up in relationships.
Also, some teenagers date only to seek pleasure through one night stands and this may break the heart of their partners who feel betrayed.
Even parents influence does hamper relationships between teenagers.
A parent ends up taking a good hard look to determine whether the teenager is dating the right person; is the relationship serious or casual; whether the relationship will affect the teenager's life etc.
Then the parent tries to impose his or her will on the teenager.
This can be detrimental.
Do not forget one thing that some relationships that began during teenage years do last a life time.
