How to Hook Up a Computer to a TV for Hulu Plus
- 1). Insert one end of the connection cable into the appropriate port on your computer and the other end into the appropriate port on your TV. For example, if your TV and computer have VGA ports, use a VGA to VGA cable to connect the devices.
- 2). Turn the channel on the TV to match the computer's input. On some televisions, you need to navigate to the settings to set the correct input so that the computer's display appears on the TV screen. Refer to your television's user manual for the exact channel or setting to view the computer's input. The computer's desktop appears on the TV screen.
- 3). Right-click on an empty area of the desktop on your computer, then select "Screen Resolution" from the popmenu. The screen resolution window opens.
- 4). Click the "Identify" button in the box that contains the two displays. The numbers "1" and "2" appear on the screens of the computer and the TV so that you can identify each one in the box that contains the displays.
- 5). Click the number for the display of the TV in the box to reveal its settings. Click the drop-down box next to each option to select a setting. For example, click the "Resolution" drop-down box to select the resolution you want the TV to have and select "Duplicate these Displays" from the "Multiple Displays" drop down-box to mirror the computer's desktop on the TV. Click "Apply," then "OK."
- 6). Launch a Web browser and go to the Hulu website. Select the video you want to watch and click the "Play" button. The Hulu video plays on your TV.
