How to Remove Hard Water Spots From a Shower Door
- 1). Try a mixture of half white vinegar and half warm water. The best way to use this is to mix it up in a water bottle and spray it directly on the shower door. Allow it to remain on the door for 15 minutes before wiping it away with a damp sponge. If this does not work the first time, repeat. If it still does not work, move on to Step 2.
- 2). Try a lime and hard water spot deposit remover such as Lime Away. Usually, you can find this at any store such as Wal-Mart or your local grocery stores. Simply spray on your shower door and rinse or wipe it off after 15 minutes. If this does not work, move on to Step 3.
- 3). Remove your shower doors. If the previous two steps do not work, you may have to remove the shower doors for cleaning. By removing them, you can lay them flat and pour lime away or straight vinegar directly on the door and allow it to set on the door for a longer period of time. It may take longer for the deposits to be dissolved by the hard water deposit remover and this may help the process.
- 4). Clean the door regularly. After you have removed the water spots, regular maintenance will prevent future hard water stain buildup. A good way to maintain your door, if it is smooth glass, is to use a squeegee and simply remove water from the door after each shower. Or, you can simply keep a mixture of half water and half vinegar in your shower and give the door a light spray after each shower.
