    • 1). Prepare the project area surface by filling all cracks and divots, sanding down any peaks and cleaning away all dirt and debris.

    • 2). Spread the white thin set mortar on to the project area surface with a straight-edged trowel. Make the mortar as smooth as possible.

    • 3). Press the entire sheet of paper-backed tiles into the mortar, seating it completely and making sure the entire back of the paper comes in contact with the mortar so a bond is created that dissolves the paper.

    • 4). Cover the entire project area in the same manner leaving uniform grout space between the tiles of different sheets. Let the paper dissolve and allow the mortar to dry according to manufacturer's instructions before grouting, usually 24 to 48 hours.

    • 5). Mist the protective paper attached to the face of each tile square, if applicable, with a plant mister and slowly peel the paper away starting at the corners.

    • 6). Mix sanded grout according to manufacturer's instructions until it is the consistency of peanut butter, then use a grout float to smooth it over the surface of the tile and into the grout spaces.

    • 7). Dampen a stiff sponge in a bucket of water and wipe off the excess grout from the tile face. Repeat the process approximately one half hour later to ensure all grout film is removed from the tile face.
