Sony XBR vs. Sony 4100 LCD TV
- The S series is the entry-level LCD television by Sony. They come in 40-, 46- and 52-inch models. The S4100 has a native 1080p resolution, 25,000:1 contrast ratio and a 178-degree viewing angle. Input and output connections include two composite, one S-video input, three HDMI, three component connections and one PC input. It features the Sony Bravia engine and supports 24p True Cinema for smooth transitions while watching content filmed at 24fps.
- The W4100 is the first in the line-up to offer 120Hz Motionflow. This technology reduces judder and motion blur from 24fps sources. The W features 1080p resolution, 30,000:1 contrast ratio, enhanced picture quality features and more. Inputs include two component inputs, three composite, four HDMI and a PC input.
- The Sony Z series is a slim-line LCD television that comes in either silver or black. The thin bezel creates a streamlined look and feel to this CCFL-backlit LCD. It also offers an enhanced Bravia engine, better color accuracy and black levels.
It supports 1080p resolution, has 30,000:1 contrast ratio and 120Hz Motionflow. It has three composite inputs, three component, one S-video, four HDMI inputs and a PC input. Television supports media streaming with Sony's Bravia Internet Video Link via an Ethernet port located on the back of the TV. - The XBR-6 is the first in Sony's high-end line-up. With an improved Bravia processing engine and stylish bezel, the XBR-6 has better colors and contrast than the 4100 models. The XBR-6 features 120Hz Motionflow and a 50,000:1 contrast ratio. It also includes an Ethernet port for use with the Bravia Internet Video Link. There are three composite inputs, one S-video input, four HDMI and a PC input. A USB input is located on the rear to view pictures and videos stored on a flash memory device.
- The Sony XBR-8 is the absolute top of the line Sony television for 2008. This innovative television utilizes LED backlighting for excellent contrast ratios and colors. As opposed to standard CCFL backlit televisions, the LED backlit XBR-8 is capable of controlling the backlighting brightness levels in smaller areas of the screen. In addition, the Sony LEDs are multi-colored which further enhances the color gamut. The XBR-8 has the same input features as the XBR-6 and has a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1.
