How to Make a Naruto Head Protector
- 1). Draw the spiral from Naruto’s headband by using an image from the series, such as a DVD cover, as a visual reference. Freehand the spiral with thick pencil lines onto a piece of printer paper; the spiral should be about 5 inches wide, including the pointed portion.
- 2). Cut along the lines of the spiral with a utility knife to create a stencil. Keep the cuts as straight and clean as you can. If some of the edges look ripped or fuzzy, snip them smooth with scissors.
- 3). Spray paint the back of a paper plate silver. Allow the paint to dry for an hour. Hold your stencil steady over the center of the paper plate and sponge black paint over your stencil. Blot the sponge before applying paint to the stencil. Gently press the sponge against the stencil, bring it straight up and press it down on another part of the stencil. Keep applying paint until the spiral is dark and even. Allow the paint to dry for an hour.
- 4). Draw a rectangle around your oval about 5 inches wide and 7 inches long. Cut out the rectangle and draw a shallow "U" on the back of your rectangle at both ends. Cut along each "U" with scissors to round the ends of your headband plate.
- 5). Stick six brass brads into a Styrofoam brick and spray paint them silver. While they dry, cut a piece of black fabric about 5 ½ inches wide and 3 feet long. Center your headband plate on the fabric and secure it by pushing 3 brads through each end of the plate.
