How to Make Your Own Song on Myxertones
- 1). Create a Myxer account by selecting "Sign Up for Free" located at the top of the page. Select "Create Personal Account." Enter your email address and cell phone number. Enter a personal password in the "Password" field and re-enter password.
- 2). Choose a display name, enter your birth year, gender and zip code. Verify that you are at least 13 years old and click "Create Account." Take the time to read Myxer's "Terms of Use" and "Privacy Policy."
- 3). Click "Make Your Own" located in the "Home" navigation bar. A separate window opens with a picture of a phone and a "Browse" box.
- 4). Left-click the "Browse" button and choose a song from your music library. Click "Upload." The actual uploading of the song may take a few minutes. Once the song uploads, a box opens listing the chosen song. Myxer automatically highlights 15 seconds of the song.
- 5). Press the triangle "play" button to hear the selected portion and the square "stop" button to stop the selection. To extend the ringtone length, move the orange selection bars or enter a starting point in the "Start" field and the ringtone length in the "Length" field. Maximum ringtone length is 40 seconds.
- 6). Select "loop" if you want the ringtone to play continuously. Place a check in the "Fade In" icon if you want the song to gradually increase in volume or the "Fade Out" icon if you want the song to gradually decrease in volume.
- 7). Click the "Volume" drop-down arrow to select your desired loudness, which ranges from "Phone Default" to "Quietest." Press "Continue" when you finish customizing your ringtone. A new box opens.
- 8). Enter your phone number and click "Next." Click "Send" to send the ringtone to your phone. A text with the ringtone link will appear on your phone. Select the link to download the ringtone.
- 9). Click one of the three options on the bottom of the page to select an alternative delivery. Click "Get it Straight from Your Phone" to access the ringtone using your phone's Web browser. Click "Download to PC" box to download to your computer. Click "Download for iPhone" to sync the ringtone to iTunes.
