How to Store an LCD HDTV

    • 1). Turn off and unplug the LCD HDTV. Wait at least five minutes to the screen cools.

    • 2). Clean the screen and entire exterior of the LCD HDTV to eliminate dust and other particles that could infiltrate and harm the television. Use only an LCD cleaning kit when doing this to avoid damage.

    • 3). Detach all cords from the set. Wrap them neatly into a tight ball, and place them inside a sandwich or similar bag. Label the bag with a permanent marker for future use. If the TV power cord does not disconnect, wrap it as tightly as possible and use a rubber band to keep it coiled.

    • 4). Slide the Styrofoam protectors that originally came with the LCD HDTV set on the two ends of the screen. If you no longer have these protectors, acquire two Styrofoam pieces long enough to fit, cut small slits into the two pieces and slide them onto the ends of the TV.

    • 5). Place the box carefully into its original box or one of similar size. Stand the LCD HDTV upright when you are done.

    • 6). Fill the rest of the box with unused dishcloths, towels or bubble wrap to further protect the television set. Use soft cloths to prevent damage to the screen.

    • 7). Seal the box with tape. Label the box with permanent marker if necessary.
