How to Make a Shrinky Dink Unicorn
- 1). Visit your local craft store to see if they carry Shrinky Dink sheets. If they don't, you can order some from the Shrinky Dink online store. (Follow the link in Resources.)
- 2). Remove a Shrinky Dink sheet from the package. You will use the rough side of the sheet to make your unicorn.
- 3). Draw the outline of a unicorn with a white pencil crayon. Most unicorns are depicted as white, but you can make yours any color you want. Make the outline big so the unicorn has room to shrink.
- 4). Color in your unicorn with the rest of your pencil crayons. Feel free to add some color to the unicorn's tail or give the animal a design on its back, such as a star or a rainbow.
- 5). Cut out the unicorn with a pair of scissors. Leave a clear edge around the figure so it has room to shrink in the oven.
- 6). Place your unicorn on a baking sheet with the colored side facing up.
- 7). Turn your oven to 325 degrees and wait for it to reach its full temperature.
- 8). Put on some oven mitts and slide the cookie sheet in to the oven.
- 9). Use a stopwatch to count out 60 seconds. Then remove the cookie sheet from the oven.
