How I Feel About Jobs and What I"ve Learned

103 4
There are people who really love their jobs, like my husband.
He found what he truly loves to do.
He found something that he is amazingly good at.
He enjoys his work and he keeps taking those steps closer and closer to his ideal career.
Eventually, he may even have his own company.
I hate jobs.
I've never been able to hold down a job, ever.
The longest I've ever had a job was almost 2 years and since then I've barely come close to staying in one place for that long.
If you're someone that's just trying to live a normal life, not being able to hold down a job really kind of sucks.
There are probably many reasons why I don't stick with it, and I'm working on some of those things.
Whatever the reasons are, it just doesn't happen for me and on good days I feel thankful for that.
In a lot of ways it's really hard though.
I guess for the most part, being this way pretty much sucks.
But thankfully, I like looking on the bright side of things and I'm embracing my can't-hold-down-a-job-ness as a blessing.
Because the jobs I've had have never worked out, I'm forced to think in a different way.
I've gotten passed the reasons why because each one would take a lifetime to figure out.
Let's face it; we've all got problems, that's life.
I've come to learn some things that have helped me along the way though and I still don't know exactly what I want to do but I'm way closer than I was a couple years ago.
So close it's scary! This may be the time where I really have to grow some balls.
So I've learned some things and this is what I know: -I need to know what I want.
I've struggled to figure this out for a long time.
There was a beginning though.
A few years ago I decided to change.
I started reading a lot.
I started doing more things that I enjoy.
I started looking for ways to find what I wanted and what I'm interested in.
I started looking deeper at the things that made my heart sing.
I went through so many career paths and weeded my way through them.
I'm finally getting to the point where I have a general idea of what I want to do.
In the end I realized that I probably could be good at any of those things but it's what I focused my energy on that came through.
I needed something that meant a lot to me and that I really believed in.
-I need to keep doing what interests me and learn about it.
I learned that it's important to make your career out of what you're interested in.
I know that I want to do something in the health and wellness field because I love learning about it.
I also love to write and see my thoughts come together on paper.
I make sure, every day, that I do something that interests me.
There are so many reasons to do this.
I learn more about myself and I get more of what I love.
-I need to do my best in every moment.
That means with everything I do including cleaning the toilet because when I do my best then I give my best and I have the best.
-I need to realize what I DO have and appreciate the shit out of it.
I've realized that I really do have it good and man is it good! -I need to have my goals and passions at the front of my mind.
I need to know who I want to be and live my life according to that person.
-I have to do it.
I have to take action.
I have to GET what I want.
I need to keep going and take those steps every single day.
No days off.
Do it.
-I know that I need to let go.
Life has a flow and any tension only blocks me from getting what I want.
-I need to not fight my feelings.
I need to allow them and accept them.
-I need my peeps.
There's no way I would have gotten as far as I have without my husband.
He's the one that makes me go higher.
He supports me in more ways than one and way more than he has to.
He always has my back and that's so important to me.
Getting what you truly want in life is hard work.
It takes time and lots of it.
I have to keep up with it and keep taking those steps.
I know there are times when I want to give up but I keep going anyway and I'm proud of that.
I may not be there yet but I sure am on my way.
