    Removing Partial History

    • 1). Open Internet Explorer. Click "History" in the "Explorer Bars" section from the "Tools" menu. Clicking the History button opens the website history box in the left-hand side of Internet Explorer.

    • 2). Organize the Internet Explorer history to make it easier to navigate. Click the "View By" drop-down menu and choose whether you want to sort the history by date, by website, or in the order of the most-visited sites.

    • 3). Click once on the particular website history that you want to remove in order to highlight it. Right-click the highlighted selection and click "Delete" to remove it from Internet Explorer's history.

    Removing Entire History

    • 1). Open Internet Explorer. Click the "Safety" drop-down menu from Internet Explorer's toolbar. Click "Delete Browsing History" to open a dialog box of options.

    • 2). Click the box next to each of the data options that you want to delete. For example, click the box next to "History" to ensure that the entire Internet Explorer history will be removed. Click the box next to "Cookies" and "Temporary Internet Files" to remove stored cookies and data from your computer.

    • 3). Click "Delete" at the bottom of the "Delete Browsing History" box to remove Internet Explorer's entire history. Verify that all of your history has been removed by opening the "History" explorer bar from the Tools menu.
