    • 1). Start with your shoes. Any outfit can fit the basic shoes you should have in your wardrobe. As a work from home mom, you'll want comfortable shoes such as slippers and sneakers. You should also have flat dress shoes and a dress shoe with a heel: A standard black pump will work great. You will also need a casual dress shoe.

    • 2). Choose the best pants for your wardrobe. You should have five pairs of nice jeans, one pair of black dress pants, and one pair of brown khaki dress pants. Jeans are great for everyday wear and casual occasions. Black dress pants are perfect for business events, family weddings and funerals. Brown khaki pants are a great alternative to the black dress pant and work well with white or light-colored tops.

    • 3). Get the right tops for your wardrobe. As a work from home mom you probably have tops that you wear when you're with the kids. Keep them. You'll need them for play times. Line your wardrobe with a nice array of tops. You'll need five sweaters, three to five long-sleeve shirts, three to five short-sleeve shirts, and a nice blazer. Choose different colors for your tops. For example, have five different sweaters in five different colors. Sticking with one or two colors can be boring. Choose a nice, neutral-colored blazer with a pleasing pattern for times when you need to dress up.

    • 4). Add accessories to your wardrobe. When you add something small, beautiful and special to your outfits, you will look and feel great. Try out some scarves and belts with your outfits. A colorful scarf around your neck will add glamor and style to your outfit. Use a belt to accentuate your waist.

    • 5). Stock up on undershirts, underwear and bras. You should have at least three black and three white undershirts. These are just simple tank top style shirts that go underneath your sheer tops. You should also have five black and five white pairs of underwear. Your bra collection should include sports bras for exercise, demi bras for dress clothing, and some regular bras you find comfortable. Stay away from lacy bras because they can make your breasts look lumpy underneath your clothes.
