How to Paint Something to Have the Color of Diamonds
- 1). Paint the object or area with a layer of white primer to prepare it. For furniture, you can opt to use spray paint primer which makes it easier to reach different areas on your object. Do a layer and let it dry overnight.
- 2). Paint the piece with some white-gray acrylic latex paint. Pick a paint color that is mostly white, with a slight tint of gray to replicate the shadows from the cuts inside a diamond. Allow paint to dry for two hours, then paint another layer. You can opt to paint with liquid paint and a brush, or spray paint.
- 3). Paint your piece with a layer of clear silver glitter paint. Make sure that you get the layer on evenly so that all areas have a good sparkle to them. Allow spray paint to dry for about an hour, then spray on another layer and let it dry. You can find glitter paint in either liquid or spray form.
- 4). Spray your piece with a layer of shellac spray sealant. This will give your piece or wall a glossy finish, like the shine of diamonds. Allow it to dry a couple of hours.
