How to Tame the Frizz in Synthetic Wigs
- 1). Brush or comb the wig gently with a vented brush or wide-tooth comb to remove any tangles.
- 2). Fill the sink with about 2 qt. cool water and about 1 tbsp. of a mild wig shampoo.
- 3). Submerge the wig in the water and wash it gently by swishing it with the water and shampoo. Avoid scrubbing the wig roughly.
- 4). Leave the wig to soak in the sink for about five minutes to loosen any dirt or build-up, then swish it around again.
- 5). Rinse all shampoo residue from the wig with cool water, then gently apply a generous amount of wig conditioner to the wig.
- 6). Rinse the conditioner from the hair with cool water, then pat the wig gently with a clean towel to remove excess water.
- 7). Place the wig on a wig stand or mannequin's head and allow it to air dry thoroughly. Avoid using a blow dryer on the wig because it can cause frizzing or heat damage.
- 8). Spray a generous amount of wig spray on the wig to tame any remaining frizz.
- 9). Brush or comb the wig gently with a vented brush or wide-tooth comb and style as desired.
