Removing a rat from a live trap

• 1). Put on leather gloves.
  
  
• 2). Carry the trap to the release location.
  
  
• 3). Raise the trap's door just enough to slide the block of wood underneath so that it holds the door open.
  
  
• 4). Back away from the trap and allow the rat to find its way out.

  Put on leather gloves.
  
  
• 2). Hold snap trap over an open garbage bag and pull back on the metal bar holding the rat. You may need to shake the trap a bit to loosen the rat before it falls into the bag.
  
  
• 3). Wrap rat in garbage bag and dispose.
