    Strap Button Replacement

    • 1). Unscrew the original strap button screw and remove both pieces. Put the old strap buttons in a safe place for potential later use.

    • 2). Measure the size difference between the original screw and the screw included with the strap lock system. If the two are the same in length and thickness, use either one. If the older screw is smaller, drill a 1-inch-deep hole in its place, using a 1/8-inch-thick drill bit.

    • 3). Feed the screw through the hole in the strap lock button and insert the end of the screw into the hole in the guitar. Screw both pieces carefully and firmly into place. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for the second strap button.

    Strap Assembly and Connection

    • 1). Insert the locking pin through the curved washer and hold the two in place. Feed the two pieces through the hole in the end of the strap, continuing to hold the pieces in place. The flat side of the washer should be flush against the strap.

    • 2). Position the flat washer over the locking pin shaft so that it is flush against the opposite side of the strap. Squeeze the top of the pin and the flat washer together so that the shaft of the locking pin is more exposed. Hold firmly in place.

    • 3). Slide the retainer clip into the small slit on the locking pin shaft. When done successfully, the piece will snap firmly into place and all parts will be connected. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for the other strap hole.

    • 4). Press down on the button of the strap's locking pin and insert the other end into the strap button. When it is in place, let go of the button and pull gently on the strap to ensure that it is properly connected to the instrument. Do the same for the other end of the strap.
