How to Adjust Plantation Blinds

    • 1). Twist the central bar of the plantation blinds, also called the tilt wand, clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust how much or how little light you desire in the room. By rotating the tilt wand, which is attached to a string system, you can tilt the angle of the slats open just a little to allow some light in or tilt them wide open to let in more natural light.

    • 2). Pull on the tilt cords with your hands to adjust the tilt angle of the plantation blind slats if you have cord-controlled blinds. Pulling on the tilt cords can also draw all of the slats up to allow the maximum amount of light into the room or lower all of the slats.

    • 3). Tilt just the top part of the plantation blinds to allow light into the room. Keep the lower part of the blinds firmly closed to prevent neighbors or other people from looking inside. The cord-controlled system allows you to control each section of the plantation blinds independently of the other, manually or with the tilt wand. You can divide plantation blinds into at least two sections, depending on your window size.
