How to Install a Table Base to a Tabletop
- 1). Turn the table over so that the tabletop is flat on a work surface. Remove the screws that fasten the mounting hardware to the table base and tabletop with a screwdriver. Set the screws and mounting hardware aside.
- 2). Stand the table base upright. Brush off the base with a utility brush to remove any debris so you have a clean surface for mounting the new tabletop.
- 3). Lay the new tabletop over the table base so its top surface is facing up.
- 4). Position the tabletop so that it is centered on the base. Verify the correct alignment with a tape measure.
- 5). Position the mounting hardware on the underside of the table, in the corners where the top joins with the base. Mark the mounting holes onto the tabletop. Drill pilot holes in the tabletop at the marks you made.
- 6). Drive screws through the holes in the mounting plates and into the top and base, using a screwdriver.
