    • 1). Pull the fuse or trip the circuit breaker that is supplying electric power to the area where you are going to install the Night Patrol motion sensor security light, for example, in a porch light that is connected to an electrical circuit box inside the wall.

    • 2). Remove the screws holding the porch light fixture to the wall with a Phillips screwdriver. Pull the fixture off the wall. Remove the screw caps from over the connecting wires. Separate the wires from the electrical circuit box inside the wall and from the fixture. Place the fixture aside.

    • 3). Wind the exposed ends of the white wires attached to the Night Patrol switch and the Night Patrol lighting fixture/sensor module around the white wire from the electrical circuit box. Loosen the two screws on the switch with a Phillips screwdriver.

    • 4). Wind the exposed end of the black wire from the electrical circuit box around one of the screws on the switch. Wind the exposed end of the black wire from the lighting fixture/sensor module around the other screw on the electric circuit box. Wrap the exposed end of the red wire from the lighting fixture/sensor module around this screw. Tighten the screws.

    • 5). Wind the exposed end of the bare wire from the electrical circuit box around the exposed end of the bare wire from the lighting fixture/sensor module. Wind one exposed end of a pigtail cable around the two wires. Twist a screw cap on the three wires. Loosen the screw at a bottom edge of the switch with a Phillips jeweler's screwdriver. Wrap the exposed free end of the pigtail cable around the screw and tighten it down.

    • 6). Place the Night Patrol cover plate on the wall, over the electrical circuit box. Screw the plate to the wall with wood screws using a Phillips screwdriver. Place the light fixture/sensor module on the plate. Screw the light fixture to the plate with metal screws using the Phillips screwdriver. Screw a floodlight into the lighting fixture/sensor module's bulb socket. Restore power to the electric line.
