We recently signed up to take on the Twitter experience, and to much of my surprise, it was actually one of the simplest social networks I had joined, and it was capable of generating the same leads as any other.
It all started a couple of months ago, when we were learning about internet marketing and how to generate leads.
We heard about social networks and how they could help benefit us.
So, the marketing team here, decided to pick a couple of networks each and sign up the company to expand ourselves.
At first, I thought: "What is Twitter?" I knew it was becoming increasingly popular on the internet, but I thought there was no way it would compare to the other social networks out there.
So, without hesitation, I still decided to sign us up to take on the 'tweeting' experience and learn more about this new fad that was taking place amongst social networks.
It was really simple.
It asked for our name and a few other details and I was ready to go.
Other networks ask for loads of information, so I was shocked to find it so easy.
As I continued on to our profile and started to look for people, I started realizing how it worked.
At first I thought, for a social network, there is no way that writing a 140 character comment was going to accomplish anything.
But shortly after, I was mistaken.
It wasn't very long, maybe a week or two, and our list had over 200 followers.
I could see the popularity of Twitter, as requests to join our social network had started to flow in endlessly.
I started to write about what our company was doing and replying to others messages.
And then, maybe a month later, I started talking about how we were going to launch our very own network for coaches and consultants.
Too much of my surprise, I had received replies about other networks that we may be interested in and I even received requests for more information about our own! It wasn't long and I was even telling someone in Scotland all about our social network right after he requested to know more! So, after all the excitement, I sat back and took a look at all that was accomplished.
I could not believe how easy this social network had became and the simplicity of writing a 140 character update could allow for just as many leads as a full profile with blogs and posts on other social networks.
So, now when I ask myself, What is Twitter, I can say, one of the top social networks to generate leads and market your company to new heights.
