It is made from bronze, and it is called a patina.
This process involves the bronze being heated and certain chemicals are added to the bronze which changes the surface colors of the bronze.
there are several colors available: chocolate brown, gold, dark hunter green, light and dark Verdi green, burgundy, and almost black.
While the artist generally chooses the colors that work best with the sculpture, usually they will let you in in the decision, and allow you to choose if you would like something different.
