How to Install a Stereo in a 2000 Toyota Celica
- 1). Lift the hood of the Celica by pulling the hood release lever under the dashboard on the driver's side.
- 2). Loosen the bolt that holds the grounding cable to the negative battery terminal using a 10 mm wrench. Move the cable away from the battery.
- 3). Pry the center console trim panel away from the dash with a trim panel removal tool. Remove the panel.
- 4). Pull the climate control knobs off of the switches below the stereo face and remove the screws behind the knobs with a Phillips head screwdriver.
- 5). Pry the center dash panel that surrounds the stereo/climate assembly free from the dashboard with the trim panel removal tool. Remove the panel.
- 6). Remove the four screws around the stereo bracket with the screwdriver.
- 7). Slide the stereo from the mounting dock and unplug the stereo wiring and antenna cable from the rear panel of the stereo.
- 8). Slide the installation sleeve into the empty stereo dock in the dashboard of the Celica. Use a flat head screwdriver to bend the metal tabs at the opening of the sleeve to secure the sleeve into the dock.
- 9). Connect the stereo wiring to the lead connectors of the wiring harness adapter.

Plug the wiring harness adapter lead connectors into the corresponding outlets on the back of the aftermarket stereo. Plug the antenna cable into the FM antenna outlet on the rear panel of the new stereo. - 11
Slide the stereo into the stereo dock until it locks in the aftermarket stereo sleeve. - 12
Replace the trim panel around the stereo dock. Press around the perimeter of the panel to snap it back into place on the dashboard. Replace the climate control knobs onto the switches on the climate control panel. - 13
Align the lower center trim panel over the gear selector lever. Press firmly against the panel to snap it back into place. - 14
Place the grounding cable clamp back around the negative battery lead post. Tighten the clamp around the post with the wrench. Close the Toyota's hood.
