How to Install a Terminal Connector on Coaxial Cable
- 1). Cut the coaxial cable to length using the wire cutters. Ensure the end is straight.
- 2). Set the cable into the strip tool, 1 1/2 inches from the end. Squeeze the handles and rotate the tool completely around the coax until resistance stops. While still squeezing the handles, pull off the outer jacket.
- 3). Fan the braided shield and lay it back against the outer jacket.
- 4). Push the connector onto the end of the coax as far as it can go, making sure that the inner collar rests snugly against the white plastic tube surrounding the copper inner conductor.
- 5). Rest the outer shell collar into the ratchet crimper. Squeeze the handles until the clicking sound stops, indicating a complete crimp.
- 6). Trim any excess braiding protruding from under the outer collar using the wire cutters.
