    • 1). Wait until fall and keep watching for seed pods to appear. Morning glories are undoubtedly one of the prettiest flowers. They bring beauty and grace to any garden. You don't have to buy new flower seeds every year. You can simply save the seeds from the seed pods they make.

    • 2). Notice when the vines are starting to turn brown in the fall you will notice many little tan nodules where the flowers were. These contain about four to six seeds each. Carefully pull these from the vine. The ones that are ready to harvest will break apart easily and little black seeds will come out. Drop all of the pod into a container and later discard the husks if you wish.

    • 3). Be prepared for mixed results when planting harvested seeds. There are many hybrid varieties of morning glory flowers. Whether you get the same color flower you planted depends on the genetics of that flower. Often the flower color will revert to a shade of blue, and possibly slightly smaller variety but you won't know until they come up. You can get hundreds of new seeds from your original package though and it is fun as well.
