How to Make a 3D Eyeball
- 1). Paint the entire surface of a foam craft ball with white acrylic paint and allow it to dry for 20 minutes. Once dry, paint a few small pink and red squiggly, branching lines over the white paint. Allow the red lines to dry for 20 more minutes. These lines will be the blood vessels of the eyeball.
- 2). Roll out polymer clay to a thickness of 1/4 inch, and cut out a circle from the clay sheet with a circular cookie cutter that is three inches wide. This will become the iris of the eyeball, so select the clay color accordingly.
- 3). Roll out black polymer clay to a thickness of 1/4 inch, and cut out a circle from the clay sheet with a circular cookie cutter that is one inch wide. This will be the pupil of the eyeball.
- 4). Place the clay forms onto a cookie sheet, and bake them in a 150 degree-Fahrenheit oven for 15 minutes. Let the clay pieces cool for 30 minutes.
- 5). Push a hot glue stick into the back of a hot glue gun, and plug the hot glue gun into an electrical outlet to heat up for 10 minutes.
- 6). Squeeze a dime-sized dollop of hot glue onto the foam eyeball, and press the iris form onto the hot glue. Hold the iris in place for two minutes to let the glue harden.
- 7). Squeeze a pea-sized dollop of hot glue onto the very center of the iris, and press the pupil form onto the hot glue dollop. Hold the pupil in place for two minutes to let the glue harden before you display the 3D eyeball.
