How to Listen to Music in School

    • 1). Speak with your school counselor about joining the band or the choir. By joining these classes, you will not only get to listen to music, but you will get to participate in it.

    • 2). Speak to your teachers about listening to your headphones during your free time in class. If you work hard and prove to your teacher that you are a responsible student, they may allow you to relax to some music in class.

    • 3). Don your headphones and slide a CD into the disc drive of a computer anytime you use one of the computers at your school. Open the media reader device on the computer and play your CD.

    • 4). Adjust your volume to a discrete level anytime you play your music. Your teachers may revoke your listening privileges if they constantly have to remind you to adjust the volume.

    • 5). Approach your teachers about listening to music in class with some of your peers. The teachers are more likely to take your request seriously if many of the students submit a request. Involve students who have good grades and speak respectfully to teachers.

    • 6). Approach your principal with the other students who are in favor of having a musical campus. Ask your principal to allow students to listen to their music during designated breaks such as lunchtime and intermission between classes. Don't name any teachers who allow you to listen to music when you approach the principal, though, or you might cause him to crack down on the leniency of his teachers.
