How to Cut a Tapered Haircut for Boys
- 1). Comb the hair so it lies flat against the back of the head. Lightly spray it with water until it is dampened lightly. Place a guard on your electric razor for the longest length of hair you want.
- 2). Turn on the razor and run it all through the hair so it is an equal length. Comb through the hair to remove loose ends and leave it clean.
- 3). Change the guard on the electric razor to one that gives you the shortest length you want in your cut. Place the tip of the guard at the bottom line of the hair to get the closest cut. Angle the razor back as you move up the scalp, making the cut longer the farther you go up the head. This creates a tapered look.
- 4). Run the head of the electric razor through the hair until all of it is tapered. Spray the back of the head with water and comb it out to remove hair debris.
- 5). Examine the hair from the top, sides and bottom to weed out any long hairs. Trim long hairs the electric buzzer missed with cutting shears. Cut them at the same level as the rest of the hair to avoid a bald spot or indent in the otherwise uniform haircut.
