Developing Spiritually - What Stops Your Growth

103 1
Do you eat your desert first? Of course you do not, or at least you should not.
First you eat what is important and then add something sweet (or salty, depends on your taste).
Through years I was noticing our live styles change, our priorities, our patience, and attention span.
We started eating our cakes first, I assume.
I was guilty of the same, don't think I missed it or it missed me.
And one day something happened.
I started feeling restless.
As if time was passing by and I did not know which way to go.
I knew I am not doing all the right things.
I was moving away from my heart's language.
Just recently I had the opportunity to hear some statistics.
According to those, the amount of information available since 2004 doubles every 48 hours.
That was my first eye opener.
I was simply overwhelmed with information.
Time does not double every 48 hours, our brains do not get twice as receptive every 48 hours.
I wish they would, but that is another story.
And it hit me.
Things have this tendency to hit you if you really ask the question.
I needed to revisit my life style as the life around me changed.
Where and when did I get lost? As a child I was always prompted to master one thing at the time, focus, than go to the next one and so on and so on.
Well, I heard all of it but did not listen, which with time lead me to a total chaos, to the massive turmoil.
I started to study, to read works of leaders in the personal and spiritual development arena.
I was hungry for answers, for clarifications and the deeper I was going the more lost (and found) I was becoming.
I also realized it was also in 2003-2004 when I uncovered the destructive influence of the internet.
Yes, it was a great resource but terrible master.
I lost my priorities.
Did you hear that saying "social networking is a social not working"? It is just simply impossible to stay on track of everything we have to, want to and should do in light of the existing resources.
The era of information is gone.
We are now in the process of transformation; otherwise we will exhaust ourselves for sure.
Would you not rather go to a fine dining gourmet restaurant rather than "all you can eat" one? I decided to keep developing myself along the activities I like the most.
I decided to simplify my life by setting specific goals.
Through observing my behaviors, I noticed there were activities which were moving me toward my goal and those that were pulling me away from it.
There are a lot of examples of doing a great job no matter what the job is (the one about being the best street sweeper just touched my heart), and that is what I intend to do.
I need to have clarity, I have to stay focused and I have to share my intention.
It all brings me back to my first days with "The Secret".
It is such an easy concept of living and we make it so complicated.
Sometimes just to decide what not to do is more valuable than what to do.
Action can be defined in many ways.
In some theories a desire plus a belief about the means of satisfying that desire are always what is behind an action.
It does not mean staying passive and waiting for the earth to move.
Actions increase self confidence, self confidence opens the door for feedback and that promotes ideas on how to improve.
And as one of my mentors, Brian Tracy said, failure is never final.
I am looking forward to transformation, are you?
