Singles Online - When Should We Meet

103 23
Once you have been online for any length of time, and gone through more than your share of con artists, liars and losers...
then finally and I do mean FINALLY you meet someone that feels too good to be true! He understands your silly phobias and superstitions.
He doesn't put you down for your past failed relationships.
He really seems interested in your day...
he doesn't run from your stories about your dysfunctional siblings.
Your first thought is to meet and quickly take him off of the open singles market! But trust me, later is sometimes better when dealing with online relationships.
Keep your eyes open and give it a little time.
If it feels right today...
make sure it continues to feel right.
Meeting is a serious step.
I have seen many relationships that would have worked if given time.
One or the other gets too anxious and makes a move too soon.
Once you cross that "face-to-face" barrier, there is no turning back.
You can't rewind the clock and go back to the images you only had in your head when you talked on the phone.
You want to make sure you discover all of the good and the bad...
weigh it...
make sure the feeling is mutual and the two of you are on the same page.
Nothing is worse than meeting someone in person and each of you have different expectations.
One of you planned on a simple "meet and greet" and get to know each other better over a cup of coffee and the other person is planning to get to know each other better over a set of tangled sheets! Let me tell you from experience...
it can be awkward to say the least.
Get your ducks in a row; be open and vocal in advance about your face-to-face expectations.
Nothing beats honesty and reality.
You need to get the shining knight and fairy princess ideas out of your head right now.
Take the time to prepare yourself mentally for one of the most important steps you will ever take with online dating.
