How to Make a Rose Using Tissue Paper
- 1). Place a dinner plate on one layer of tissue paper. Lightly trace around the plate with a pencil. Cut out the circle.
- 2). Cut into the circle at an angle, approximately an inch. The measurements do not need to be exact, so there is no need to measure and mark. Continue to cut around the circle in a spiral, making the spirals approximately 1 inch wide. End an inch from the center.
- 3). Bend a 1/4 inch of the outer edge of the spiral toward the back of the tissue paper. With your forefinger behind the tissue paper, work your way around the spiral, pressing the paper over your finger with your thumb. This will give the impression the petals are curling backward when the rose is complete.
- 4). Apply stick glue to the inner edge of the cut spiral.
- 5). Roll the first 2 inches tightly, beginning from the outside of the cut spiral. The outer spirals of the circle will form the center of the rose. The upper edge of the rose is the curved edge of the tissue paper. Pinch the bottom of the rose, adhering the glue between the layers of paper.
- 6). Roll the remainder of the spiral loosely, creating petals that open outward. Pinch the bottom of the rose, continuously, to adhere the glue and prevent the center from sliding up and out. Roll to the end of the cut spiral.
