How to Turn on an SPI Digital Audio Player

    • 1). Connect the small end of a USB cable to the USB port on the left side of the base of the SPI audio player. The reason SPI players are relatively inexpensive, costing approximately $19 as of August 2011 is because much of the processing is done by Windows Media Player. The SPI audio player needs to be connected to your computer in order to edit, delete or add files. The functionality of an unconnected SPI audio player is limited to scrolling through and playing MP3 songs and viewing pictures.

    • 2). Connect the large end of the USB cable to a spare USB port on a computer. Turn on your computer if you haven't done so already. The SPI audio player is USB powered, meaning it draws current from a connected device, via the USB cable, in order to charge up. As the SPI audio player charges, you'll see an egg-timer graphic on the screen.

    • 3). Close the dialog box that pops up on your computer screen and wait for the device to charge fully. It typically takes two hours for a completely dead battery to fully charge. It's important to note that if your player is brand new and unused, the battery is most likely dead. Once fully charged, the SPI audio player will automatically turn on. You'll notice that the player has no On or Off button. Instead, the player only turns off when it runs out of battery. To turn it back on again, charge it up.
