The hair is a reflection of our way of life! As soon as we stressed, tired, sick, it has an impact on our hair. It becomes dull, brittle, and sometimes fall. The hair falls (45 to 60 per day) and renewed permanently. This type of hair loss is normal, every one experiences it once a while. In a search to regrow hair, many are finding that they have better success using natural remedies. It has led many to give up totally on hair loss products such as creams, pills, solutions, and even various other hair treatments.

1. Indian gooseberry (amla) is very regularly used by Indians to treat hair loss problem. It is a wonderful hair tonic. It is used in oil as well as shampoo and conditioners. If you can lay your hands on Indian gooseberry, extract its juice and mix it in same quantities with lime juice. Use this mixture to wash your hair.

2. Henna which is popularly used as a natural way for hair coloring is also know to have other benefits for hair. Henna is used as a conditioner which strengthens the roots and enhances hair growth. Henna paste can be made by combining it with egg, coffee, yogurt, lemon juice and some water. Add a teaspoon of coconut or olive oil into henna paste as this helps in making the hair smooth and soft. Apply this henna paste on the hair and let it stay on your hair for 45 - 60 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water. The henna paste application will make your hair smooth and healthy.

3. Massaging the scalp helps increase circulation and blood flow to the hair follicles, which can promote growth. Using your fingertips gently massage the scalp in a small circular motion for 10 to 15 minutes a day, creating warmth on the scalp. This brings blood to the surface, "feeding" the hair follicles. Some sources claim that you can use ginger, egg yolks, coconut milk and other foods during the massage to help stimulate hair regrowth, but little evidence so far supports the effectiveness of doing so.

4. Wash your hair with a homemade green smooth on a daily basis. Take one handful of romaine lettuce (or green leaf lettuce) and one handful of spinach and mix well in your blender.

5. Aloe vera is a tried and tested remedy in the Caribbean as well as India. It promotes healthy hair growth and also prevents hair loss. Aloe vera balances the pH level of the scalp and cleans the pores as well. It also soothes and heals the scalp. It can be used along with coconut milk and wheat germ oil. A number of herbal shampoos and conditioners have aloe vera as an ingredient.

6. One must never wash hair with hot or warm water as this can damage the hair. Rather, one must always wash hair with lukewarm water. A mild shampoo and conditioner should be used to wash hair.

7. Make your own hair loss shampoo by mixing together and boiling amla, reetha, and shikaki with two litres of water. Use this treatment for at least a month to treat baldness and prevent excessive hair fall.
