Acne Treatments Made at Home

As much as we pretend we are not looking, we do notice when someone has a face full of pimples, blackheads or whiteheads.
They look unsightly and they are unwelcome.
A face full of zits is embarrassing and unattractive and does not make you feel good about yourself.
You just want to look un-scarred and to feel attractive again.
Well you can, and it's easy.
Studies show that in most cases, you do not have to buy expensive products on pharmacy shelves that may or may not work or get a doctor's prescription to clear up Acne blemishes.
You already have everything you need in your own home to make your skin clear and healthy-looking again.
Where do these blemishes come from and how do they develop? Inspite of our best efforts at skin care and personal hygiene, Acne is a common skin disease that develops on those areas of the skin where oil glands are most numerous.
It develops when pores of the skin become clogged with oil, dead skin cells and bacteria.
Oil secretions build up beneath the blocked pores, providing a perfect environment for skin bacteria to form a lesion or pimple as it is commonly called.
Some things can exacerbate an existing Acne problem: pressure from tight-fitting helmets, backpacks and tight collars, pollution and high humidity or scrubbing the skin too hard - and squeezing or picking at a pimple can cause scarring.
Acne may get so troublesome at times that a visit to the dermatologist is warranted.
Usually though, a visit to your own pantry will reveal ingredients well suited to Acne reduction or to clearing up the problem altogether.
Consider the following made-in-your-own-home remedies: -Cure zits overnight by dabbing on toothpaste just before bedtime.
Toothpaste dries the oil and gets rid of the zit.
-Dab egg whites onto the pimple to draw impurities from the skin -Mix cornstarch with vinegar or with water and rub it on the area.
Let this harden for 15-30 minutes.
Then wash away with warm water.
-Gently apply hot compresses to the affected area three times a day until the pustule (if one has formed) bursts on its own.
-Juice from the AloeVera plant provides a calming, soothing effect to inflamed and irritated skin.
Apply two/three times a day.
Keep Aloe Vera plant leaves handy to use when needed.
It prevents scarring, discoloration and fade marks.
- Baking Soda is a great scrub.
A scrub exfoliates the skin, removing dead skin that can eventually clog pores and lead to Acne.
Mix a small amount with water to form a paste.
Massage gently for several seconds, rinse and pat dry.
-Oatmeal mixed with water as a paste or cooked oatmeal rubbed over clean skin absorbs unwanted oil and draws out impurities which reside deep in the skin.
Leave it on as a mask on a regular basis.
-Lemon or Lime Juice are both rich in citric acid and can keep the skin exfoliated to aid in Acne prevention .
Here is another helpful tip: Acne has been shown to be affected by the digestive system, so keeping your entire digestive system working as smoothly as possible may reinforce Acne prevention.
In these difficult economic times, using proven home-made natural healers can help you maintain your good looks, your self confidence and your good health.
