How to Replace a Hard Drive in an Accurian DVD Recorder
- 1). Unplug the Accurian's power cord. Remove any cables attached to the back panel. Place the Accurian on a table with the front facing you. Remove the screws from the four corners with the Phillips screwdriver.
- 2). Turn the Accurian around so that the back is facing you. Remove the screws from the four corners with the Phillips screwdriver. Remove the screws on the bottom edge with the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver.
- 3). Pull the cover off the Accurian with your hands. Place the cover aside.
- 4). Remove the screws from the bottom of the hard drive assembly plate inside the Accurian with the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver; the hard drive assembly plate is left of center facing you.
- 5). Lift the hard drive assembly plate up. Pull the power and data connectors out of the hard drive that is attached to the hard drive assembly plate; the connectors are farthest from you on the hard drive's back panel.
- 6). Place the hard drive assembly plate on a table. Remove the screws from both sides of the hard drive assembly plate with the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver. Pull the hard drive assembly plate off the hard drive. Dispose of the hard drive properly.
- 7). Place the replacement hard drive on the table with the same side facing up as was the case with the original hard drive. Place the hard drive assembly plate on the replacement hard drive. Attach the screws to the side of the hard drive assembly plate with the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver.
- 8). Connect the power and data cables to the appropriate connectors on the replacement hard drive's back panel. Place the hard drive assembly plate back in the Accurian. Reattach the screws.
- 9). Place the cover back on the Accurian. Reattach the screws to the back and front. Plug the power cord back in. Reattach the cables that were removed earlier.
