How to Decorate a Spiral Staircase
- 1). Place candles or small potted plants on each step. Make sure your staircase is wide enough to accommodate these items. Choose colors that match your home or room motif.
- 2). Hang garlands on the handrails. Envelope the handrails with an artificial flower garland for a year-round theme. You can also decorate the handrails to match the season. In the spring, put a garland of artificial spring flowers. In autumn, drape the handrails with fresh or artificial evergreen garlands. You can attach twigs or faux fall flowers in the garlands. During the Christmas holidays, weave colorful string lights into the evergreen garland, or attach ribbons and other small Christmas decorative items. After the holidays, remove the Christmas decorative items and leave the evergreen garlands on the handrails throughout the rest of the winter.
- 3). Put your family pictures in identical frames and hang them on the staircase walls. You can also decorate the walls with your painting collection or with your favorite posters and images in uniform picture frames.
- 4). Place a big potted plant or a floor vase on the staircase landing near the bottom or top step of the staircase. Put twigs or flowers in the floor vase or leave it bare. Make sure the color and design of your vase or pot complement the color scheme and design of your home interior.
