Sweatsuit Alternatives

Sweatsuits have a place in society; it's called the gym. Sweatsuits should not become everyday attire for women. While it's understandable that you want something comfortable to wear while running errands, grocery shopping and walking the dog, there are other comfortable but attractive alternatives to a sweatsuit. - Jeans and a tee is probably the most popular sweatsuit alternative because it's easy. However, to add a little style to your regular jeans and tee outfit, choose boot-cut, dark-washed jeans and a deep V-neck tee, made of tissue-thin cotton with a tank underneath for some depth and visual interest. Then add some flats and you're ready to head out the door.
- Cotton dresses are easy to wear, but some people see a dress and automatically think, "formal." But a cotton dress with a summery print is perfect for every day, and a snap to put on. Choose an A-line dress that flatters your body, with an empire waist and large band under the bust. It's an easy style that almost anyone can wear. Pair it with a flat or cute wedge.
- A sweatsuit is like the ugly stepsister of the yoga pant and hoodie. Ideal for when you think you'll have some time to squeeze in a little physical activity, yoga pants are flattering on the body, and a cashmere hoodie makes the look casual but classy. Lululemon yoga pants are flattering and available in a variety of sizes for every body type.
- Perfect for a warm summer day, linen pants are breathable and cool. Choose a long pair in white or black. Add a breezy button-up shirt, and you should be able to stay cool all day, no matter what errands you need to run. You can do this look with a light moccasin or even flip flops.
- Why not try a light cotton skirt as a sweatsuit alternative? It's just as easy to put on and just as easy to run around in. Start with a bright white cotton skirt in an A-line shape. Add a knit cardigan in a bright color, and you have a put-together outfit that doesn't look sloppy. Try flats or kitten-heeled pumps for shoes.
