How to Crochet a Baby Headband
Things You'll Need
Instructions
Headband
1Begin with a slip knot and then chain six.
2
Work a double crochet into the third chain from the hook. In the next two chains, double crochet into each one of them. Now you have a row of four double crochets (the first double crochet was comprised of the three chains).
3
Chain three to begin the next row. Turn and work a double crochet into the three stitches.
4
Repeat Step 3 until you have the desired length of the head circumference.
5
If you are not sure of the head circumference, measure your work to make sure it is at least 15 inches. If not then continue to work more rows until it measures between 15 and 16 inches. Once you have the desired length, fasten off.
6
Join the ends of the headband together with a slip stitch across all four stitches.
Flower
1The flower is two separate crocheted pieces. Both are one round of crochet.
2
The bottom part of the flower is made by chaining four. In the third chain from the hook, double crochet two times and then chain one. Double crochet three more into the same stitch and then chain one. Double crochet three more into the same stitch and then chain one. Join with the beginning of the round with a slip stitch. Fasten off and proceed to make the inner part of the flower.
3
Chain two and then work a half double crochet into the second chain from the hook. Next, in the same stitch, work a double crochet followed by a treble crochet. Chain one and then do a treble crochet into the same stitch as the previous stitches. Then, work a double crochet followed by a half double crochet and then a single crochet. Chain one and join the round with a slip stitch. Cut the yarn and fasten off.
4
Use a slip stitch or a yarn needle to fasten the bottom part of the flower to the headband. Once it's secure, put the center part of the flower in place and attach it to the headband.
