Pooh Crafts
- Author A.A. Milne wrote a series of books about Winnie the Pooh, his son Christopher Robin, and their friends in the Hundred Acre Woods. E.H. Shepard also drew the notable faces and bodies of Winnie and his friends. The children's book stories were inspired by his son, Christopher, and the boy's teddy bear, Winnie. The first story was published in 1926. Since then, it has been adapted into Disney films, coloring books, toys, video games, board games and more novelty items for children.
- Craft your own Winnie the Pooh puppet from colored paper bags and card stock, then conduct your own puppet show. Find online, download and print a Pooh paper bag template. Trace the template onto colored card stock. Cut out the pieces with scissors, then lay a red paper bag flat. Lift the bottom flap and use a glue stick to affix the jaw piece underneath. Glue Pooh's head onto the bottom flap. Continue gluing the details, such as a red mouth, pink tongue and black nose. Use a marker to add details like mouth lines and eyes.
- Craft your own Winnie the Pooh candy box for any holiday or special event. Find online, download and print a candy box template. Use scissors to cut out Pooh's body and extremities. Fold along each dotted line of the body. You need to fold away from you, except for when folding Pooh's legs. The top dashed line on Pooh's legs should be folded toward you, while the bottom line should be folded away. This lets the Pooh candy box to sit on a edge. Using a glue stick, affix the tabs inside of Pooh's body. This creates an open box in the back. Fold each of Pooh's arms in half along the dashed line while gluing the sides together. Glue each arm, too. Once finished, fill the candy box with a few pieces of your favorite sugary treat.
- Carve Winnie the Pooh's face onto a pumpkin for Halloween. Find online, download and print a Winnie the Pooh pumpkin carving template. Tape the template around the pumpkin's face. Use a tack to poke holes onto the pumpkin and through the black areas of the pattern. After removing the pattern from the pumpkin, use tools from a pumpkin carving set to cut along the tack holes and carve out the black areas. Once finished, the pumpkin's ready for display. Place a candle inside the pumpkin, if desired.
